Term 2 Week 10

At the start of the week, we continued to improve our products. By the end of the week, we managed to finalise everything and call the project a success.

Term 2 Week 8 - Week 9

In these two weeks, we implemented and continued to improve the configuration wizard. We started to wrap up the dance mat and test it with a range of games. We were honoured to have the chance to showcase our product at GOSH.

Term 2 Week 6 - Week 7

In these two weeks, we successfully added the virtual dance mat to the MotionInput codebase. Moreover, we added more components to the dance mat and fixed some bugs. We also designed the configuration wizard.

Term 2 Week 3 - Week 5

During this period, we started to come up with ideas to implement our final product. We learned more about the technology that we were going to use and attempted to train a model for the final product. At the same time, we successfully implemented the hand jitter correction algorithm and began to test it.

Term 2 Week 1 - Week 2

In these two weeks, we refined the existing modes and added more modes for more games. These modes were tested and demonstrated to the industrial partners. Moreover, we completed the elevator pitch.

Christmas Break

Over the break, we created new modes with feet extremity buttons to allow users to play games using their feet. Moreover, we created a configuration to allow users to change the settings of the Fifa mode.

Term 1 Week 8 - Week 9

During a meeting with Dean, additional tasks were assigned before implementing dance mat and hand jitter. These tasks include creating footpad mode 1 and testing retro games using feet for gameplay. A new football mode for FIFA will also be created, with consideration for players with no hands or arms. Team 26 will assist with implementing MotionInput for FIFA during the holidays.

Term 1 Week 6 - Week 7

After conducting two weeks of research, a 4-minute video showcasing the project progress was created and shared with the client and TA. Analysis of the MotionInput v3.2 codebase was performed, and extensive testing of the mideapipe functions and OpenCV documentation was conducted.

Term 1 Week 4 - Week 5

After meeting with our project partners to discuss the details of our project requirements, we began to conduct literature review for our project. We explored the potential games that could be played with our product. We plan to make a pressentation video for literature review.

Term 1 Reading Week - Week 3

For HCI We improved our user reqquirements, personas and scenarios using the survey responses and an interview with a NHS staff, which helped us to better understand the potential users of our project. Afterwards, we conducted a heuristic evaluation of our prototype and found several areas of improvement. At the same time, we carried our literature review.
